Aw summer! It's been very good to me so far! I've been enjoying time with friends and family, and though i've got more time with friends and family coming up... i'm making sure I "carve" out time for making things! Because making things makes me happy! 🤍🤍🤍

👙It’s a fun activity in the summer time here if you like to chill in a wet swim suit under the scorching sun. All the channel needs is some big shady trees to line it! 🌳

Anyway, just a bit of fun for this rainy day! ☺️

Latest linocut block of the Okanagan Series. I will be doing 5 in the series for now.

Woo... so this one was carved while I was at war. Ha! Lots of shaky hands went into the make of this one. But, what I love about this particular one is 9 years ago before I moved to NZ I was able to bring my parent to this view.

My parents are really going through it right now. I think of them persistently and this one reminds me of all their support for me despite their hardships life's thrown at them. I just think of us looking at this view, my mom saying it's heaven on earth, and well-wishing me off to a new journey to my piece of heaven on earth.

Until we are together again enjoying this view! ✨

Hi everyone! 👋🏽
KJ here and I've made a longgggg reel. I know the algorithm hates long ones, but whatever... i'm not a social media wiz and don't expect a huge following here.

I just thought I'd share a little bit about me and where i create now. ☺️

So my story is not a straight line and it never has been. I was born in Jakarta (that's in Indonesia🇮🇩) to an American mother 👩🏻 and Papuan father👨🏾‍🦲 (Papua is a melanesian island that's technically part of Indonesia but ethnically and culturally distinct from one another ie. it's very different).

I did some of my growing up in Papua 🏝️& New Orleans 🎷.
After Hurricane Katrina, my life took a turn and I traveled through out NZ, Australia & the pacific island. I met and married a Canadian boy. We Moved back to 🇳🇿NZ to work at Wētā in my dream job. We had a couple of babies there and decided to move back to 🇨🇦Canada.

Now that i'm back in Canada, I've felt like a fish out of water, so I've turned back to my safe place...
✨Creating things and making art 🎨

That brings us to today. It's a journey and I'm working through my imposter syndrome... but I hope you enjoy the art. I'm loving making it and so grateful I have the opportunity & energy to do it.

This is a view of Giants Head Mountain from the drive I do a lot of days… and I love the little Red Barn on the foot hills.

I did 2 versions… the 2nd one was my first go… I wasn’t happy with it, so I redid it this morning work on the composition.
